Respite care

Respite care is designed to not only provide foster and kinship carers with a much needed break and support, it's also an opportunity to allow other caring adults and families into a child's life.

Respite can work within a time and space that best fits you and your life.

Most of the time, the primary carers and respite carers can work out what times would work best for each of them. It may be as simple as an afternoon, or an overnight every now and then, maybe it's a weekend a month. Don't let uncertainty around your availability stop you from getting involved, the difference you will make in a child's life, a carer's life, and no doubt your own life, will be worth every effort.

ONE huge support to a foster carer
ONE of the most rewarding things you could do
ONE more caring person in a vulnerable child’s life

Fostering Hope acknowledges and pays respects to the Tasmanian Aboriginal people as the traditional and original owners and continuing custodians of Lutruwita/Tasmania. We acknowledge and are saddened by the terrible mistakes of the past to remove Aboriginal children from their families, communities, and country. We recognise the ongoing trauma as a result of this. We believe Jesus came to love, save, and heal all people and Fostering Hope exists to reflect His love.
